Scholarship Background:
Don Nichols began teaching at the Albright Art School, founded its
Graphic Design program in 1950 and brought it to UB where, until his
death in July 1987, he was the program’s head and an extraordinarily
dedicated teacher.
Undergraduate students attending Western New York two- and four-year
colleges for design, writing, communications, illustration, photography
or fine arts are eligible to receive prizes in the Student
Communication Competition for the Don Nichols Scholarship.
PRIZES INCLUDE
• First Prize: $1,000
• Second Prize: $500
• Third Prize: $300
Up to 10 honorable mention certificates may be awarded.
