Local PR Pros Provide Extreme Assistance

Amherst, NY - Two local public relations professionals, Nancy Cardillo of More Than Words and Karen Karaszewski, APR, of KKPR, collaborated recently to provide public relations services and media outreach on behalf of David Homes for the episode of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition shot in Buffalo in November. The Buffalo shoot included many "firsts" for the show, such as the largest turnout of volunteers; the first green home deconstruction; the first Emerald rating (from the National Association of Home Builders) for a hero home; record-setting food donations during the Extreme Food Drive; one of the largest turnouts of spectators for the "Move The Bus" segment and a record number of community projects accomplished during shoot week. The episode aired in January as a two-hour special on ABC-TV (WKBW-TV in Buffalo), capturing huge ratings in its timeslots.
